The Problem
section of this Journal has a long and impressive history of being influential
in the training of young scholars, and in sharpening-up the skills and
knowledge of veteran teachers. Polya had three commandments for teachers:
i) that they should know their subject matter, ii) that they should like
their subject matter and iii) that they should maintain a healthy regard
for problem solving. With this in mind, we present the following problems
for solution.
